About Kofi Farms

Ten Years Away.
A Lifetime of Purpose Found at Home.

Kofi Farms was born out of frustration, a phone call to a mother, and five egg-laying chickens. This is the real story.

Farmland in Ghana
Where It All Began

From São Paulo to Agona Swedru

Kofi left Ghana in 2015 on what he thought was a trip to watch the World Cup in Brazil. It turned out to be a scholarship opportunity.

After graduating, he tried teaching English online — the income wasn't enough. He switched to factory work. Years passed without significant improvement.

Then he came across motivational content from Obeng Darko — and something clicked. He called his mother back home in Ghana.

Our Journey

From 5 Chickens to a Full Operation

01

The Idea

A phone call changes everything

From Brazil, Kofi partners with his mother to start a small poultry operation with 50 birds, adding 75 more to reach 125 total. The spark is lit.

02

The Setback

First attempt hits challenges

The feed gets changed while Kofi is still abroad. The chickens stop laying. Production crashes from 10 crates a day to 1.5. The team digs into research instead of giving up.

03

The Return

Kofi comes home to Ghana

After his return ticket to Brazil expires, Kofi is fully committed to Ghana. He arrives on the ground at Agona Swedru, works alongside Josh and Bertha, and rebuilds the flock hands-on.

04

Scaling Up

400 new layers. Brooding contracts. Chick sales.

The farm adds 400 layers, takes on brooding deals for up to 500 birds, and starts breeding and selling chicks. The commercial side of Kofi Farms takes full shape.

05

Today & Beyond

Training. Placement. Community Building.

Kofi Farms now runs a farmer training programme, supplies skilled farm hands to other operations, and maintains an active social media presence reaching thousands of aspiring Ghanaian farmers.

Our Values

What Drives Every Decision We Make

Intentionality

Every move on this farm is deliberate. We plan before we act and think before we spend.

Continuous Learning

When the first batch failed, we didn't quit — we researched. We invest constantly in knowledge.

Community First

We share what we learn. Ghana needs more poultry producers, and we're here to help create them.

Sustainable Growth

Expand within your means. Build a farm that lasts, not one that collapses under its own weight.
